Installing Messageware ActiveSend Personal
To install Messageware ActiveSend Personal, you must have permission to install software on your computer.
- Find the install program you saved to your computer.

- Double click on the install program name to launch the install program.
- At the WELCOME screen press Next to begin the install.

- At the END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT screen carefully read the license agreement. If you accept all of the terms of the agreement, select "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and click Next to continue.

- At the CUSTOMER INFORMATION screen enter your User Name and Organization.
Click Next to continue.

- At the SETUP TYPE SCREEN select Complete and click Next.

- At the READY TO INSTALL screen press Install to start the installation.

- At the COMPLETE screen, verify that the installation has completed successfully.
Click Finish to exit the installation program.

- ActiveSend Personal is now installed. The next step is to setup your OWA address.
Setting up your OWA address
To start using ActiveSend you have to enter the OWA address in the ActiveSend Configuration console, to do this;
- Open the configuration console via the Start Menu (Start\ All Programs\Messageware Incorporated\Messageware ActiveSend\ActiveSend Configuration).
- On the General tab, enter the OWA URL.
- Press the Check Address button to verify the address. You will be prompted for your OWA username and password.
- When entered correctly a green checkmark will appear.

Applying your license key and customer number
After purchasing ActiveSend Personal, you will receive an email with the customer number
and license key.
* If you did not receive an email containing your licensing information, please contact activesendsupport@messageware.com.
To apply the license key and customer number;
- Open the configuration console via the Start Menu (Start\ All Programs\Messageware Incorporated\Messageware ActiveSend\ActiveSend Configuration)
- Move to the License tab.
- Enter the license key and customer number.
- Press Apply and OK to accept the changes
Setting up Extra features
Choose the default mail client
Set OWA as the default mail client on the General tab using the drop-down menu.
The default mail client let you do the following:
- Send attachments from the desktop using Send To\Mail Recipient
- Send attachments from within Microsoft Office applications using File\ Send To\Mail Recipient
- Lets you send messages by clicking on email links on web pages
Securely save your password
To bypass login prompts, enter your OWA User name and Password on the Security tab.
This setting is computer profile specific.

Set additional options
The Options tab lets you select: Use OWA font; Use MailTo: Body adding the application’s default text to the message body; and Use OWA signature to automatically insert the signature created in OWA.
Using ActiveSend Personal
ActiveSend Personal enables you to:
- Send files from within an application, such as Microsoft Word or Excel, by clicking
Send > Email (Microsoft Office 2007) or File > Send To (Microsoft Office 2003/XP)
- Quickly upload files into a new email message by selecting files in Windows Explorer / My Computer, right-clicking on the file and choosing Send To > Mail Recipient.
- Click on a MailTo link on a webpage to create a new message using your OWA account
- Change your default mail client from OWA to Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or other email applications using the ActiveSend Configuration console
Send to mail recipient from Microsoft Office
In Microsoft Office 2007 applications, select the Send > Email
In Office 2003/XP File > Send To
Send to mail recipient from the desktop
Select file(s) and use the right-click mouse menu to select Send To > Mail Recipient. A new message form will open.

Respond using mail to links on web sites
Click on an email link to create a new message using your OWA account. You may be prompted to login to OWA.
